How our story began
Where today stands ecoHouse Furlan, in the years from 1920 to 1995, there lived my great-grandfather Albin Breška, who had trained to become a dairyman in Italy. Even as a little boy, he was happiest when he had brought fresh milk from the barn and churned it to butter. He pursued his dreams and dedication to dairy farming also in his career path – for more than 30 years he worked at the local dairy in Kobarid, which was processing the milk from the surrounding villages and mountains.
Respect for tradition, love for nature and natural materials are central to my life as well. As an environmental civil engineer, I have become enthusiastic about sustainable constructions already during my studies. With the help of experts’ technical knowledge, the whole family has assisted in building this house and this gives the house a special value and a personal dimension. The name for the ecoHouse has presented itself, as we have preserved the old house name – Furlan.
My passion for interior decorations and a special eye for details, my partner’s handwork, as well as our resourcefulness have all served to help us create a unique house, which we also wish to share with you.
Come and experience it for yourselves. We are looking forward to your visit!
